Surrealist Ball

An Illuminating Masked Soirée

With Halloween looming on the horizon, our October exhibition pays tribute to Marie Rothschild’s 1972 Surrealist Ball at her hellishly lit French mansion. Inspired by Rothschild’s legendary event and commemorating the 100th anniversary of André Breton’s groundbreaking Surrealist manifesto, this month’s whimsical masquerade traces threads of Dadaism and Surrealism woven into the fabric of contemporary art. Fueled by a desire to tear things apart and rearrange them in unexpected ways, the artists in ‘Surrealist Ball’ cast a mélange of dream-like figures dancing wickedly across the screen.
